Our mission, values, and approach to investing.
The Wesleyan Investment Group exists to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world financial practice. We empower Wesleyan students with the analytical tools, collaborative experience, and professional network needed to launch meaningful careers in finance, investing, and beyond.
We hold every investment thesis to a high standard. Opinions must be supported by data, sound reasoning, and a clear understanding of risk.
Great investing requires diverse perspectives. We foster a culture of open debate and teamwork across sectors and class years.
We invest with a patient, long-term mindset — focusing on durable competitive advantages and intrinsic value rather than short-term noise.
We are committed to helping every member grow — whether landing a top internship, building technical skills, or developing as a communicator and leader.
WIG manages a real, diversified equity portfolio across eight sectors of the economy. Analysts are organized into sector teams, each led by a senior member who guides stock pitches, valuation models, and investment theses. Our work is grounded in fundamental analysis — every investment decision is backed by rigorous research, financial modeling, and team debate.
Beyond the portfolio, WIG hosts speaker series featuring finance professionals, runs internal training workshops on topics like DCF modeling and comparable company analysis, and organizes networking events connecting students with alumni across investment banking, asset management, private equity, and more.
We're always looking for driven students who are curious about markets and serious about learning. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
